Chlöe Howl – her real name is Chlöe Howells, you see? – currently has but one song online and no biog to speak of, as is the way with so many new pop acts these days, scrubbed of back story for their ‘official’ launch. It’s like she didn’t exist until a week ago.
She did though, she’s seventeen. So she must have existed for at least seventeen years already. Also, despite her Facebook profile being almost brand new, her Twitter feed goes back much further. Look, here she is talking about Wispa Gold’s back in October:
Anyway, she’s signed to Sony/Columbia and that lone track of hers, ‘No Strings’, went online last week. Sporting a London accent that is earning her fairly silly comparisons to Adele, the track is actually four minutes of bouncy electro-pop. However, her sharp vocals, aided by a sweary chorus, take the track in a less sugary direction than another artist might have gone.
