Approved: Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip – Gold Teeth
By Andy Malt | Published on Tuesday 24 September 2013
Dan Le Sac and Scroobius Pip have been off releasing solo albums for the last couple of years. Now back together in their gestalt form, Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip, they have a new album, ‘Repent, Replenish, Repeat’, out in two weeks, so now is the time to reacquaint yourself.
You should already have stepped back into their world through the album’s first single, ‘Stunner’. Like that track, new single ‘Gold Teeth’, a collaboration with Flux Pavilion, finds them on aggressive form. They may have reinserted that ‘versus’ between their names, but it’s outwardly that they’re baring their (pearly white) teeth. The album itself drops the volume at times, but it’s tracks like these ones that hook you first.
The video for ‘Gold Teeth’ complements its lyrics, imagining what rap videos would look like if rappers were more honest about their incomes. Have a watch here:
