Approved: Faye – Breathe Out

The Line Of Best Fit’s label offshoot Best Fit Recordings announced Swedish singer Faye as its third signing earlier this year, releasing her first single, ‘Water Against The Rocks’ in June. This week she released single number two, ‘Breathe Out’, which pushes her right to the top of the ‘ones to watch’ category.
I could go further with that, but I don’t want to jinx her by laying on too much hyperbole. ‘Breathe Out’ is a fantastic song though. The sort of song that would win a more conventional popstar favour amongst both their mainstream audience and those who generally consider themselves above such things. Slow and moody, the sudden rush of the song’s chorus comes as Faye’s voice leaps in pitch and ensures that everyone is listening.
