Approved: Lace Curtains
By Aly Barchi | Published on Thursday 21 June 2012
Lace Curtains is the fledgling venture of Michael Coomer – he of garage band Harlem, who haven’t done much since releasing their debut LP ‘Hippies’ two years ago.
LC’s own first long player, ‘The Garden Of Joy And The Well Of Loneliness’, is out in July via Harlem’s own label Female Fantasy. Recorded in (where else but) Brooklyn and featuring Bloc Party’s Matt Tong on percussion, ode-to-disillusionment ‘High Fantasy’ nestles on the LP beside blowsy duvet confessional ‘Bedroom Honesty’ (to which Coomber linked via this personal ad in Craigslist’s ‘Casual Encounters’ category).
