Lapalux

The only British artist signed to Flying Lotus’s Brainfeeder label, Lapalux, aka producer Stuart Howard, released two EPs last year, ‘Some Other Time’ and ‘When You’re Gone’. For most, having crafted twelve tracks of such intricate and inventive quality would be cause to sit back and rest a while. Not so for Howard though, who has cracked straight on with his debut album, ‘Nostalchic’, which will be released on 25 Mar.

The first track from the album, ‘Guuurl’, was unveiled last week. Soulful but experimental, it carries on the same twisted R&B feel of his previous releases, though with perhaps more rounded edges. The album also features two tracks with Kerry Leatham, whose ‘Forgetting And Learning Again’ was one of the highlights of ‘Some Other Time’, as well as contributions from Astrid Williamson and Jenna Andrews.

Lapalux will also be touring in March, dates for which you can find here, and you can listen to ‘Guuurl’ here:
