Saycet

Originally a solo project for Paris-based musician Pierre Lefeuvre, he released Saycet’s debut album, ‘One Day At Home’ in 2008. A collection of skittish, swelling ambient tracks, it picked up a lot of attention from the French music media.

The follow-up, 2010’s ‘Through The Window’, then came along after a year of collaboration with vocalist Phoene Somsavath – now a permanent member of the project, along with live VJ Zita Cochet. Somsavath’s brought about a number of changes. As well as (obviously) adding vocals to the mix, Lefeuvre’s production also softened, with his drum programming particularly calming and allowing more space for new layers in the Saycet sound.

Currently working on a new album for release in 2013, Saycet’s most recent contribution to recorded music is an impressive interpretation of what could be seen as an untouchable song, The Temptations’ ‘My Girl’, which you can listen to and download here:
