Approved: Talk Normal
By Aly Barchi | Published on Monday 22 October 2012
Brooklyn no-wavelets Talk Normal’s last LP being 2009 debut ‘Sugarland’, they now present a new one in ‘Sunshine’, as is out this very day via Joyful Noise.
Three years in the on-off taping (and made in the face of various setbacks, specifics in this Spin interview), it gives off a sense of the band’s blunt punk intent by the ton; whether that’s via the terse, militaristic snares of first track ‘Lone General’, the fuzz-laced lovebuzz of ‘Bad Date’, or the obliquely Vivian Girls-y ‘Baby, Your Hearts Too Big’.
Hear those first two tracks now, and/or stream the third as part of a Spin-sponsored ‘Sunshine’ stream.
