The Liminanas

First shaped in 2009, France-based Lio and Marie Limiñana’s extra-marital sideline – The Limiñanas – made of with a whole lot of classic pop modes via their 2010 eponymous debut and its 2012 follow-on ‘Crystal Anis’.

The band have always leant heavily on the bank of the 1960s psych ‘chanson’, stealing and re-shaping (with reverence, skill and respect, that is) the cream of Serge Gainsbourg, Jaques Dutronc, Francoise Hardy et al’s greatest hits.

Still on that same heavy lean, the band will release a third LP, ‘Costa Blanca’, via Chicago label Trouble In Mind on 18 Nov, and as an appetiser to that they have shared a track titled ‘My Black Sabbath’, which is a way away from Ozzy, less so from Serge, and nearer to the band’s stab at real, distinct originality.
