Cat Power tour will go on, sans expensive gorillas
By CMU Editorial | Published on Monday 5 November 2012
It seems Cat Power’s European dates are officially back on again, setbacks be damned, and so will begin as billed in Amsterdam on 26 Nov. Power – real name Chan Marshall – who last week said the tour might be cancelled over bankruptcy and health concerns – has since reassured fans it’ll go ahead, but without its expensive “stage presentation”, aka a light show and gorilla graphics.
Says Marshall via Instagram: “All I wanna do is sing my damn songs a give my best to the fans that love me. Not having funds to have my stupid light show for fans has put me in a corner. But I was born in a corner… refuse to lose”.
