MELTDOWN, Southbank Centre, London, 1-12 Aug: So, Meltdown’s 2012 curator Antony Hegarty has just announced an initial list of acts for his ‘Future Feminism’-themed edition of the festival. These include Marc Almond, Planningtorock, Buffy Sainte-Marie, CocoRosie, Joey Arias and cult NYC singer-songwriters Diamanda Galas and Laurie Anderson. Proceedings will also include a rare live sighting of Elizabeth Frazer, who will perform her first proper shows since departing the Cocteau Twins in 1998. Ex-Coil twosome Stephen Thrower and Ossian Brown, collaborating as Cyclobe, will also co-score four Derek Jarman shorts with the new venture from David Tibet (of experimental band Current 93), Myninerest. meltdown.southbankcentre.co.uk
