Festival line-up update: Glastonbury, Global Gathering, T In The Park and more

Artist News Festival Line-Up Update Gigs & Festivals

Global Gathering

So, what’s ‘hot’ in the always-heated festival scene? I guess I’ll start at Global Gathering, as – says its initial artist listings missive – will feature dance-y type sets by dance-y types like Seth Troxler, Example, 2manydjs, Erol Alkan, Katy B, Skream and DJ Fresh. Oh wait, and Wiley, Rita Ora and headliner Plan B! What a thrill.

Alternative festival thrills are available via this year’s Lounge On The Farm, which will cultivate live appearances by Seasick Steve, Soul II Soul, David Rodigan, DJ Format and Lucy Rose. And what of the London-based Playground Festival and its pretty revelatory first line-up reveal? Well, it features Gary Numan, Booka Shade, Vitalic, Pantha Du Prince, Juan Atkins and John Foxx & The Maths, so have that.

Whilst you’re at it, take a dual update c/o Sinead O’Connor, who’s been confirmed to play Levellers’ Primal Scream/Ocean Colour Scene-capped Beautiful Days AND the Brighton-wide Brighton Festival. So that’s nice, isn’t it? And talking of festival pleasantries, a lot of very pleasing Bristolian artistes have been added to Bristol-based new-kid-on-the-block ArcTanGent, not least: Thought Forms, Zun Zun Egui, The Pirate Ship Quintet and The Naturals. They align with headlining acts 65daysofstatic and Fuck Buttons, and others.

ArcTanGent’s gent-in-charge James Scarlett says: “I feel very confident that we’ve booked the cream of Bristol’s music scene and I can’t wait for people to check out these bands because they are seriously amazing. They have all been booked on merit and the fact they are from Bristol is just an added bonus for us!”

Moving away from Bristol, and past riveting changes at Glastonbury (basically, it’s re-done its late-night spaces, Bloc9 and The Common, and added a new ‘pre-digital’ EDM-themed arena, Genosys) we at last reach this list of FLUU particulars:
