IMS announces initial line-up, legend award for Fatboy Slim

Organisers of the International Music Summit, the EDM-focused music business event that takes place in Ibiza each May, have announced details of this year’s programme.
With the title ‘Beyond The Boom Boom!’, sustaining the recent successes in the dance music sector is obviously going to be the key topic this year. Ultra Records founder Patrick Moxey, who recently became President Of Electronic Music for Sony via a joint venture between the major and his label, will speak, as will William Morris Endeavour’s Marc Geiger whose keynote will be very much focused on the ‘sustainability’ thing, while Paul Van Dyk will give a keynote interview on the importance of social responsibility in electronic music.
Meanwhile a certain Fatboy Slim will be celebrated at an IMS Legends Dinner hosted by the event’s co-founder Pete Tong.
Commenting on this year’s programme, IMS’s other founder Ben Turner told CMU: “The focus [this year] is on life beyond the boom, but presented in a positive framework and with a sunny outlook. IMS has been criticised for being ‘too positive’ before – something I won’t ever apologise for! IMS keeps it real, but celebrates positivity and longevity”.
This year’s IMS event takes place from 22-24 May. More at this link.
