Kele Okereke to publish book of lyrics
By Aly Barchi | Published on Thursday 7 February 2013
Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke is to publish a collection of his lyrics through The Lyric Book Company, which has previously collected works by Grandmaster Caz, George Michael and The Divine Comedy’s Neil Hannon, amongst others. According to the press release, Okereke’s lyrics are influenced by “classical literature, rave culture, religious texts and East London street slang”, so there you go.
Says Okereke: “It is quite an honour to see all these lyrics in their correct forms bound in such an exquisite book. It’s truly humbling and I hope these words move the readers as much as I have been moved writing them”.

Elsewhere in Bloc Party news, it looks like Okereke might have already started work on his next volume of lyrics, if this studio-y photo posted to the band’s Instagram profile is anything to go by.
