The shortlist is out for this year’s Mercury Music Prize. And look, here it is, looking all short and everything…

Some people said “Woo!”.

Most people said “What?”.

AIM said “Ooooooh, lots of indies”.

At least once person said “Is this the British version of the Polaris/Choice/Shortlist/AMP awards then?”.

The xx and Dizzee Rascal are already joint favourites to win, according to William Hill. A full report in tomorrow’s CMU Daily I reckon.
