Mercury Prize shortlist announced

The shortlist for the 2012 Mercury Prize has been announced by Lauren Laverne at the Hospital Club in Covent Garden.

This year, due to a shift from the usual dates of the shortlist announcement and ceremony, the shortlist takes in fourteen months of British album releases, from 12 Jul 2011 to 10 Sep 2012.

Michael Kiwanuka – Home Again
Sam Lee – Ground Of Its Own
