Midlake frontman quits, band continue
By Andy Malt | Published on Tuesday 6 August 2013
Midlake have announced that their frontman Tim Smith left the band last November. However, since then they have been working on a new album, entitled ‘Antiphon’, which will be released this autumn.
In a statement on their website, the band said: “Since the departure of Tim Smith from Midlake in November of last year, we’ve worked days and nights in the studio to write and record this album. We’ve pushed ourselves and challenged ourselves and feel that ‘Antiphon’ represents an ultimate genesis both musically and spiritually”.
The band will perform live with their slimmed-down line-up for the first time later this month, which further tour dates to be announced in the coming weeks.
