Reid speaks more about dropping the Gaga

And Finally

La Reid

Epic Records boss and ‘X Factor USA’ judge LA Reid has been talking some more about his decision to drop a before-she-was-famous Lady Gaga from his then label Island Def Jam, saying he was simply having a “bad day” when he decided to axe plans to work with the future pop superstar.

Reid admitted letting Gaga out of his grasp in 2006 was a mistake in an interview last year. This time speaking to Ellen DeGeneres, he said that he initially thought Gaga had the potential to “change music”, but that he didn’t like the demos she provided to his label.

“I said, ‘You know what? This is disgusting’. So I dropped her. And I dropped [her A&R guy]! It was the biggest mistake I ever made in my life”.
