Veteran Scots Runrig have announced that they will stage a “weekend party” to mark their 40th anniversary next year. Under the name Party On The Moor, the two-day event will take place at the Black Isle Showground in Muir Of Ord near Inverness up in the Highlands on 9 and 10 Aug.
Announcing the show, the band said: “This is an amazing anniversary to have reached. It’s such a significant milestone and little did we think as young lads back in 1973 that we would still be performing our music right into the new millennium and beyond. We want to thank the loyal fans who have been with us from the beginning and those who have come on board at various points of the journey. This will be one of the biggest events we will ever have staged”.
