Vevo is soon to bring the TV offering it began experimenting with back in March to Apple TV set-top boxes and net-connected Samsung TV sets, reports The Wall Street Journal. Deals have apparently been done with both companies, with an Apple TV app launching possibly as soon as next week.
The move would further reduce Vevo’s reliance on YouTube for much of its traffic – though the Google-owned site would likely still account for most of its standalone video views.
Google renewed its partnership with the Sony and Universal-owned music video service last month, investing an undisclosed amount in the company. Vevo also recently extended a partnership with Dailymotion into Europe.
