Xfm hires Scroobius Pip
By Andy Malt | Published on Thursday 11 April 2013
Xfm has announced that, later this month, rapper Scroobius Pip will launch a new hour long weekly show on the station on Saturday nights called The Beatdown, featuring selections of hip hop and spoken word material.
In a statement, Pip said: “The chance to work with Xfm was one I couldn’t pass up. It’s the station that launched my career and, through amazing people like John Kennedy and Eddy Temple-Morris, has always been at the forefront of giving exposure to new sounds. Hip hop is such a deep genre and, through my show, I want to shine a light on some of the stuff that maybe doesn’t get enough of it”.
The first edition of The Beatdown will go out on 27 Apr at midnight.
