This day-long seminar will provide an extensive beginners guide to music copyright including copyright law, music rights ownership, collective licensing, collecting societies and copyright enforcement. It will review the latest developments in the battle to combat online piracy, and explore the harsh realities and new opportunities facing music rights holders in the digital age.

The seminar will be led by Chris Cooke, Publisher and Business Editor of the CMU Daily, and a leading expert on the music business and music copyright. Chris frequently comments on music copyright issues for a range of media, and especially the BBC, and regularly writes about developments in intellectual property and media law. He is also an experienced trainer, specialising in media, music and business. Delegates will receive a free pack summarising the content covered on the day.
